The Awakening

I entitled this 'The Awakening' because this is the trip which opened my eyes to a whole new horizon of discovery, excitement and adventure. As profound as it may sound, I'm not really the 'going out' type-of-guy beforehand. The farthest I've been to outside of Metro Manils is Batangas. And that is just because we have relatives there whom we seldom visit. To the north, i have only been to Tarlac. And that was just once for a wedding of a close relative from Batanagas whose wife-to-be is Tarla-based. It's pretty much Metro Manila 99.9999% percent of the time, that is how narow my feet have travelled.

But a hastily-decided trip, invited by a then collegue/officemate and now close friend, changed all that. I saw the beauty of Coron, Palawan. Its pristine beaches and ultra-clear waters, to say the least. The food was great and the people were nice. We snorkeled and dove japanese ship wrecks. We experienced hot springs and dark caves, trekked red clay soil and swam underwater caves, jumped 30ft cliffs and climbed limestone spikes.

I'll have to delay the details and itenerary of our trip in a future blog as i don't want this to be lengthy. For now, enjoy some of Coron's riches through my pictures.
